Abscess forming: The skin on buttock is rather thick and abscesses generally take longer for the "head" to come to the skin. Your bf is having an abscess forming and thus should be seen--he may need it lanced and possible treatment with an antibiotic. It is really a pain in the _ _ _ but should be checked out.  Good luck.

4 years ago, i had a large haematoma removed from my buttock. however i see it has flared up again, and am self conscious as i looks as though my one buttock cheek is bigger than the other .  in surgery they said it was 8x8 cm .

Hematoma: Why do you get hematomas? Is it hematoma or abscess? Do you have a bleeding issue or are on blood thinners, trauma? A large hematoma ,  should be monitored as it can compress nerves .  .F/U/W MD/ ER for evaluation. If you have numbness tingling  inability to bear weight go immediately.

Yes, they have.: The sensations one perceives with various types of prolapses (rectal, vaginal, uterine, urethral ) can be almost any type of sensation in the pelvic/groin/rectal area.  All these structures are adjacent, even touching, the other.  Somewhat symptom one experiences are very varied, and many people will describe the symptom in a similar fashion.
