Tell your surgeon : Hi there Ralph  I am presuming you are having cataract surgery. In that case, it is prudent you let your surgeon no as they may think it is best until you get better from your cold. R/O PHARYNGITIS : PHARYNGITIS = Inflammation of throat. It can be viral or bacterial. Rest push fluids gargle with salt water/zinc 100mg/Vit c 5gm. If symptoms persist or worsen, you need exam throat culture and potentially antibiotics.

Your body : Is still in recovery mode. You may need way more calories during this time than you are uses to. and be careful to get enoug rest and not to overdue it  to gain weight you Jane to take in more healthy calories than you are burning

i took 2 dayquil severe for a sore throat and cold and i am taking citalopram 40 mg.  is this ok or should i stop and if so what would be better?

Dayquil: One of the ingredients in Dayquil can accelerate the heart rhythm and there is a slight chance of harmful reaction with citalopram which can rarely cause the serotonin syndrome. I would avoid dayquil and cough syrups while on citalopram. Your pharmacist can give you a lot of help with this and any questions about your medications. For your sore throat gargle with warm saltwater, and take Tylenol

Maybe not safe: you are possibly contagious and should be careful. After 2 weeks its good to get checked out by a doctor.

Yes: Prolonged URI may be complicated with pneumonia, Bronchitis, Sinusitis and Otitis media. So it is time to see your doctor

Unlikely: The CDC has essentially ruled out the myth of a chronic mono more than a decade ago. Whether the intensity of her illness then and continued poor health relate to a deeper issue is unknown. A thorough evaluation by a pediatric infectious disease specialist may help you sort out her problems and a way to help.

See below: Many viruses cause colds and you can get them repeatedly esp. If contact with smali children.  Use hand sanitizer.   I recommend a decongestant either phenylephrine nose drops or spray or pseudephedrine tablets . Use them for only 3-4 days to avoid rebound phenomenon.  You could also take tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain relief, throat lozenges for sore throat and Robitussin-DM for cough and you could try coldeze.
