Dayquil: One of the ingredients in Dayquil can accelerate the heart rhythm and there is a slight chance of harmful reaction with citalopram which can rarely cause the serotonin syndrome. I would avoid dayquil and cough syrups while on citalopram. Your pharmacist can give you a lot of help with this and any questions about your medications. For your sore throat gargle with warm saltwater, and take Tylenol
