i had d&e 3 weeks ago. a week after surgery i started with tailbone bone pain, worsens to a feeling of rectal fullness when sitting for a bit. xray of coccyx normal. can a sore tailbone cause rectal fullness feeling? gi thinks pelvic floor issues?

: With a negative "coccygeal x-ray", it is unlikely for the coccyx to cause the symptoms.  "Pelvic floor issues" depend on you prior obstetric history.  A colorectal surgeon would be able to confirm the origin of the discomfort.

Hard to say: There is a condition known as coccydynia, which means pain from the tailbone.  In this condition, the tailbone is usually quite tender.  It also may be coming from other structures in the area as well.  Usually a detailed exam and appropriate studies can. Determine the cause.  Thank you for the question.

Inflammation: This could be due to localized inflammation, or an underlying problem with the bone (i.e. fracture, instability).  You could try some anti-inflammatory meds (i.e. ibuprofen, Aleve) and ice/heat and topical treatments such as aspercreme or capsaicin cream.  See a physician if your symptoms persist or worsen.

Sitting positions: or a hard mattress are things to consider. Try to not "slouch" while sitting and try sleeping on side if possible to see if these help. Also car seats are often a problem because they have a more reclined position.

2 weeks ago i fell ice, 4 days later i got a sore pimple type thing at the base of my tailbone its now spread & i have 4/5. is it cause of the fall?

Let me explian: Most likely not but take care them early before they  cause more problems. Ask your doctor to take x-ray on the tail bone to see if it is broken.

Coccyx pain: One possible cause may be injury. Falls or direct trauma to the area may result in a coccyx fracture which is painful.

the tip of my coccyx is sore. theres a small, round and a very sore lump there. it's been there for a few months, but has gotten more painful. does it need intervention? i often sit in a way that puts pressure on it which is probably caused it?

: Sometimes an infected hair follicle or cyst can develop in this area and these can become infected. If it hurts and interferes with your activities I would have it evaluated. Start with your regular doc. If they think it is worthy of more specialized care they will know who is available to take care of it.

Tailbone: It's uncommon, but some people's tailbone or coccyx press into the rectum enough to cause symptoms involving bowel movements especially when the rectal vault is filled with stool. If you still have concerns, consult a proctologist or colorectal surgeon for evaluation and advice.

Get checked: Sometimes it just happens. Sometimes it follows trauma. Rarely it is caused by tumors and other serious problems. See your primary doctor, especially if it worsens or does not improve.

Protect: This takes time. Sit on a doughnut all the time, or stand. Have you had an xr or been evaluated by an orthopedist? If not this is the place to start.
