Viral: Apthous ulcers or herpes simplex(cold sores) ar e the two most common reasons. Apthous ulcers can be related to a vitamin b deficiency or a diet too rich in acid. Try a b complex supplement and see if the frequency decreases. Also if you have not seen your doctor, so so. If it is recurrent cold sores (herpes 1) then you may benefit form a antiviral medication.

Normal occurrence : Having a mouth sore in this area is probably a apthous ulcer or canker sore. The white patch in mouth is tissue surface layer sloughing off, think of scab on skin. The medication can turn color and collect with this patch to ball up. Spot will heal in week time.

i have a sore in my mouth, looks like a little line of yellow. it's by my gums but on the upper part of my cheek,  doesn't hurt but keeps coming back?

Unfortunately: I have no idea.  A dentist would have to see the area to know what's causing the sore/pain (infection or canker sore?) and I have never heard any patient mention that the Orajel "balled up". Sorry.

Probably viral: This is probably a viral infection.  When a virus infects it can invade multiple types of muscosal cells...gingiva, esophageal, tonsillar etc.  Don't panic too much about the dots you see...the tongue is very vascular, colonized with every bacteria and fungus and has odd type cells if you look close enough.  When it gets inflamed it can take quite abnormal and serious.  Rest, fluids and time now.

Recurring ulcer: Any sore or lesion in the mouth that does not heal in 10-14 days, or is recurring, needs to be examined and possibly biopsied.
If your dentist is unsure why you are have a lesion, Have the root canal evaluated by an endodontist. If the root canal is sound, and no other teeth are involved, see an oral surgeon or periodontist for an exam.

Lots of things...: This could be trauma from chewing or brushing, a foreign body stuck in your tissue, infection in the tooth or gums, scarring, or neoplasm.  If it hurts, bleeds, grows, or lasts more than a week or two: you should have it professionally evaluated.  These type of things can be nothing to worry about OR life threatening; that's too much wiggle room to sort out online.
