Yes: Hip and knee pain can co-exist.  Hip problems can refer to the knee and vice versa.  If a tendon is painful, it could be tendonitis. Try advil (ibuprofen) or alleve, ice, and rest. If no improvement see your orthopedist.

What did you do?: Did you injure the back. Sounds very musculoskeletal. Try heat with passive back stretches and ibuprofen to bring down the swelling.

Possibly a sciatica: A sciatica is caused by an irritation of a nerve in the back that then can cause pain that runs down the leg like you are describing.  There are also potentially other causes as well.  Usually a detailed history and exam can determine the cause.  Thank you for your question.

Take pain medicine a: You need to go see a doctor to examine you and run some tests to help sort out what is wrong. For now take pain medication, either tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin but they work only for 6-8 hours, so you will have to repeat it 2-3 times a day. It is not uncommon to miss periods if your general health is not good..So you need to see a doctor soon.

i have severe, deep aching hip pain in my right hip that radiates to back. its been going on for several months and gets reallybad at times. ive tried pt but it didnt help. also, random but that leg turns purple with white splotches ?

Hip pain : Hip pain with purple and white discoloration is an interesting presentation and brings up the concern for blood vessel disease, but there are many other rarer reasons for hip pain which may not be direct not related to bone, muscles, and joints.  Much more information is needed to understand this well. I suggest you talk to your doctor about hip pain and a possible relationship to the skin changes

Press on the band!: Start at the hip bone and run your finger down towards your knee.  If it is much more sensitive (painful) down that path than anywhere else on your thigh, then you have itb.  Other things can cause hip pain, though, so if it is not sore/tender here, you should see someone.  If you are young, a couple of other things might cause this.  Try massage, heat, arnica (gel or cream, not pills), analgesics.

Back problem?: This sounds like low back issue aggravated by pregnancy. I would see your pcp. In meantime, doing low back exercises especially toning abdominals and hamstring stretches.
