Headache: This mild headache could continue for a week or even longer but should gradually improve and not worsen. OTC Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Alleve can be helpful.

spot top left of head starting aching out of the blue to eyebrow. lasted a sec only. no other symptoms. have stabbing in that spot now. i'm 18 scared!

Don&#x27;t be scared. : Patients with your symptoms tend to have a totally normal eye exam  in majority of cases and it can be associated with a distant history of a whiplash injury to the neck.  Nonetheless you should get your eyes examined by an ophthalmologist including pressure check or IOP check. .

Accepted Answer

Possible virus: These are very non specific symptoms and could be related to many different causes.  Occasionally people, especially diabetics will develop a viral infection of the inner ear that can cause dizziness (vertigo) with positon changes.  Usually this is self limited but your physician can prescribe medication to help stop the symptoms.

i hit the back of my head with the wall, no symptoms just a little soreness at the site, what to watch for, and do i need to go to the er?

: If you have persistent headache, change in your normal mental state, feeling fatigued, dizzy or somewhat unusual for you go for evaluation. You know the force of the injury, if mild the soreness is most likely to get better over a period of hours and tenderness a little longer. I hope you stay well.

i hit the side of my head hard 1 week ago on point of hard chair. no symptoms except very tender/sore. have been icing area. still tender. any advice?

You have: treated the injury correctly....further treatment in the absence of other symptoms at ONE WEEK after injury is not necessary!

i bumped the upper left part of my head under the bunk bed while standing, it was sore all day. this happened 2 weeks ago and i had no symptoms. yesterday i started to feel very light pain on that area that comes and goes multiple times all day?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. You could watch and wait, if the pain is getting better and you do not have other symptoms, it may just the healing of a bruise. If you get fever, constant pain or weakness, it would be prudent to see a doctor.

2 year old daughter is fine in day but for the past 3 nights has had a temp & complained of sore head. temp normal in day. no other symptoms at all.

Needs an examination: It's alway a good idea to have a young child of 2 years old evaluated for a fever even though she's ok during the day. While it's likely to be a temporary viral source of fever, 2 year olds are prone to ear infections(otitis media) and urinary tract infections....especially if the fever is 39C (102.2F) or greater rectally.

Seems OK: Most important prognostic factor after head trauma is Loss of Consciousness. You only report head soreness not loss of consciousness. Other findings might be severe unrelenting headache, severe vomiting, ataxic gait (walking like drunk), seizure, fluctuating levels of consciousness. You don't report any of this so I wouldn't worry.

Should be fine: Post-concussion syndrome can include headache, blurry vision, memory troubles, and nausea. Usually it will go away within a few days. See your doctor if these symptoms persist for more than a week. Avoid any contact sport or any potential head injury for at least a week after your symptoms have completely resolved. Go to the ER if you have persistent vomiting or decreased level of consciousness.
