my 3 year old son's testes haven't dropped. should i be worried?

Urologist to check: Term babies can have an undescended testicle. There is usually something wrong in the undescended testicle, related to why it did not descend. It may be smaller and only partly functional. It also has a higher chance of cancer. However, preemies with undescended testicles probably have normal testicles but are just born before testicles are supposed to go into the scrotum in the 7th-8th months.

my son 15wks. had 2 scans on testes, as dr unsure if descended. they think high up in scrotum. why is this? is it bad? will they drop on there own?

Undescended testes: He is young but undefended testes can cause infertility. Not sure why doctor cannot tell but please stay on this - he may need to see a GU doctor and have it corrected

my 10 year old son's testes had to be removed due to thecancer, rhabdomyosarcoma, 5 years ago. now the doctor noticed that the other testes' size is larger than normal. what should i do?

Needs workup: He needs to have the other testis evaluated for cancerous growth. As you know this involves an ultrasound assessment and possibly an MRI and then surgery, if indicated.  It's better to be safe than sorry.

my son had undescendend testes when he was born.. he had an operation to bring them down.. he is now 6 years old.. one disappeared coz it was so small.. the other isnt growing .what should i do.. will this affect his testosterone.. thank you in adva?

: The answer would require a direct exam. The testis at this age remain relatively small, peanut size until puberty begins, There are standards that Pediatric Endocrinologists use to follow "normal". If this concerns you have him evaluated.

my son has a red spotted bumpy rash on his testes and foreskin... we are currently treating it with a zinc and caster oil cream what else may help?

Hard to say: Without the kids age &amp; a better description of the rash it is hard to speculate what/why it is there or how to treat. This forum doesn't allow us to see pictures. Causes range from yeast, to reactions to products to bacterial infections. The first thing I would try would be an antifungal cream 2x/d to see if it helps.

Early Surgery: Early surgery is ideal to restore full function , procedure is low risk ambulatory procedure and get it done as soon as possible .

Doctor can check: If there appears to be 3 testicles, a primary care doctor can examine to see what the third one is (because it is not likely to be a true testicle). The doctor might order an ultrasound scan to see what is in the third one.

Variety: A variety of conditions can affect the testis. They may not decent in to the scrotal sacks from the abdomen leading to shrinkage. There is a natural decline in sperm and hormone production with age. Cysts, inflammation, trauma (with collection of clotted blood), twisting (which cuts off blood supply leading to painful necrosis) and many different types of cancers may occur.

Here are some ...: Very likely you may have so-called hydrocele. Nonetheless, bring the info on the onset, degree, duration, evolution, and progress of scrotal swelling and its potentially related symptoms over time to the Doc for analysis + physical exam + tests as needed such as US so to deduce possible Dx for reasonable Rx / care / counseling.
