Maybe there is some spasm in the vessels during exercise, decreasing blood supply to the feet or toes; or nerve compression in the feet from swelling or from movement of the bones.

Maybe you are wearing socks that cut off circulation too, causing you to go numb; or you may have something that is pushing against or compressing the nerves, that results in you going numb. If you are pushing on the balls of your feet, you may be compressing the nerves.

When you bike most of the pressure is on the toes and you may be irritating the nerve to the toes.

Yes it may go away: Running the ultramarathon with the repetitive trauma to your foot could damage the nerves of your foot.  When a nerve is injured it may take a while for the function to returned.  Most nerve after injury will shut down for 4 weeks before healing will start
