Not related: Soft tissue sarcoma do not metastasis via lymphatics except in very rare situations. Thus these lymphatics are not related to the sarcoma you have. I advise you have them checked by your pcp. Good luck.

A mass?: The most common knee mass is the familiar baker cyst. Cancer arising in the knee is usually a sarcoma of some sort; osteosarcomas, ewing sarcomas, and pigmented villinodular synovitis are all common here. It depends...: You need to know the size and grade of your sarcoma or what was the name given to it. The prognosis is good for smaller tumors(less than 5cm) and for low/intermediate grade sarcoma. But if it was over 5 cm and high grade then there is substantial risk for relapse; so close surveillance is advised.

Varies greatly: An alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma may appear and kill in a week or two.  A well-differentiated liposarcoma can grow for ten years without your knowing it, be removed and never trouble you again. Much depends on the grade and stage, and despite the pop wisdom ("my doctor said i would live thus-and-so long"), no physician ever gives more than percentage odds. Good luck.

Benign vs malignant: A tendon sheath tumor could be a malignant sarcoma or a benign tumor (by definition not a sarcoma).

Very hard...: To describe. Some are fibrous sarcomas and some are fatty liposaromas. Generally are hard, firm, gritty, gray-yellow rounded densities. Can infiltrate other tissues or can push other normal tissues away. Feels and looks differently than surrounding normal tissues.

See below: If the sarcoma is localized, it should be removed by a cancer surgeon. If it has spread, chemotherapy is the best option. A combination of doxorubicin, Ifosfamide and Mesna is commonly recommended.

If often: Doesn't. Regular xrays are insufficient for the diagnosis of sarcomas. Mri with contrast is the best noninvasive test for this.
