lump on right hip for 2 weeks now. no pain, no coloring, mri showed nothing abnormal, xray also showed nothing. about 2 inches wide. any guesses?

lump on right hip and 24 hour pain and hurts to walk and run and painful when standing or sitting and when im sitting or standing my right leg falls asleep and takes 20 mins to wake up and not able to sleep because of the pain. ?

Formal evaluation: I strongly recommend a formal evaluation by your  local physician given severity of symptoms which are constant in many activities and positions, with associated “lump”. This requires a medical work up and best discussed in a formal visit sooner than later.

Painful lump on hip: This could be part of your normal anatomy from one of the "bumps" on your femur, the large leg bone that form part of your hip. If your unknowingly bumped it, there could be a bone bruise, or possible the fascia (connective tissue) over the area is inflamed and tight, such as with IT band syndrome or the tensor fascia lata (especially if you're a runner) Best to have it looked at/examined

i am 19, i have a pea size lump just to the left of my right hip(near groin). was black and blue, but has gone away. hurts now and then. what is this?

Sounds like a: lymph node.. and by its location the most common source are the feet...small cracks between toes, athlete's foot (fungal infection) etc.

Get it checked out by your Primary Care Provider (Family Doctor, Internist etc)

2 months ago i noticed some thick areas of skin which feel like lumps on top of my right hip the skin above is darker than surrounding. it is painless, didnt increase in 2 mnths. ultrasound shows just diffuse prominence of subcutaneous fat?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. Could the affected area be subject to friction from clothes, belt, phone etc? If you are overweight, losing weight may be helpful.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Bump on hip: This could be a lipoma. Is it soft and nontender? Most likely nothing to worry about if it is just under the skin, and not painful. A simple exam by an MD can help determine this!

my patient received a haldol injection in her right hip and 6 days later she has a hard lump about 6 inches from the injection site.  is this ok?

Haldol in hip?: This whole scenario does not sound OK. This area should be evaluated very soon, perhaps at an UCC or ED. This could be an abscess or local reaction that would require treatment.

Hard to say: If you have a soft tissue lesion anywhere that you have noticed, it bears observation. Lesions that are increasing in size, especially rapidly, or those associated with increasing pain, are concerns for malignancy. A painless mass which is constant in size, unchanging in appearance, and unchanged over time is likely benign. Lipomas are the most common soft tissue benign lesions; common and benign.
