Ovulation: Ovulation occurs consistently about 14 days before your next cycle. If you know how many days there are from the first day of the bleeding to the next during your normal cycle just subtract 14 days. This allows you to predict when you should be ovulating.  Cervical consistency is totally unreliable. Cervical mucous is highly variable.

? moist: The cervix has blood during the cycle and the mucous gradually forms under estrogen influence from cycle day 3-5 to cycle day 12-14 where it is profuse, clear and sticky / stretchy (called spinnbarkeit).  After ovulation under the influence of Progesterone becomes less in amount thick and cloudy (less functional) and stays this way until the next cycle.  Hope that hit the mark?

No: There are no clinical evidence regarding
dry or wet cervix and menstrual cycles.
There are findings of hormonal changes and changes 
in the vaginal mucus with respect to the cycle.

Preg test : If your period is late you should check a pregnancy test. The position and consistency of your cervix is only relevant when you are in labor. This is not something one needs to check at other times in your life. It is not reliable and does not mean anything.

Nothing: Cervical position only matters when you are in labor. There is no need to check it otherwise as is will not reliably indicate anything useful.

Yes: Your cervix can produce a large amount of mucus depending on your cycle. If you notice a foul smell, thick pearly discharge, or brown discharge you should seek treatment. If your period does not come or is irregular take a pregnancy test. Consider getting a gardisil vaccination to protect your cervix from human papilloma virus which is sexuality transmitted and causes cervical cancer

Repeat: You may want to repeat the home preanancy test in about a week to make sure pregnancy isn't an issue.

Pregnancy Test: Position of cervix in vagina does not tell us anything in regards to whether a woman is pregnant.  Best to do home pregnancy test on first morning urine no sooner than 2 weeks after FIRST unprotected sex.  If neg, repeat in 7-10 days.  If both neg, unlikely you are pregnant.

my period came very late, and this one isn't normal. there is a lot of clumps of blood, etc. my cervix is soft and a little high. what could be wrong?

Options: If you are sexually active, you could have been pregnant and this is a miscarriage.

It could have also been a hormonal imbalance throwing your periods off. When this happens it usually will straighten itself out over 2 to 4 cylces. If not, see your doctor.

Preg test?: Doing a home pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy is a great start.  Stress and physical health changes can alter the menstrual cycle and delay periods too.  If issues continue, see your doctor.
