is it bad to leave soap and face wash on your skin for too long? i scrub my hands about 2-5 minutes and after they sting

Skin condition: Soaps and face wash contain ingredients that remove dirt and dead skin. Depending on the agent used, it may cause mild irritation especially to areas of thin skin such as the face and back of the hands. I recommend mild soap and to pat, not rub the skin. If your symptoms persist, you may want to consult a dermatologist.

i've had swollen, red, stinging hands for the last 36 hrs. i haven't changed my diet or soap etc. benadryl (diphenhydramine) didn't help.  will it go away on its own?

Need to be checked: You don't know what it is or what is causing it, and it is impossible to say weather it is an allergic reaction or something else without looking at it, if there is no improvement whatsoever i suggest you see your doctor.

65 male stinging torso skin pain after every luke warm shower. my body is relatively clean, don't scrub extra hard, after every luke warm sh my front torso, & arm skin from shoulder down to wrist s tings for 30mins, lotion doesn't help, dove soap use?

: If your shower removes skin oils, the skin can become dry,tight and quite uncomfortable. While your skin is somewhat moist after light towelling following the shower, try rubbing in a moisturizing cream to lock in skin oils. Always use a skin moisturizer while your skin is still damp or moist after washing.

the skin on the back of my hands turn a shade darker after i wash my hands with the soap i normally use, its really obvious, whats wrong with me?

Hand color change: Are you washing with cold water? Can you send a photo. Could be normal versus Raynaud's syndrome.

i had a pimple on the nape of my neck and it popped by itself. is it bad that i washed my hands and deluted some dial antibacterial soap and put it on my pimple, then rinsed it and dried? i know its not recommended but is that fine to my health ? ?

Yes to both: Water helps to mechanically and chemically remove dirt and water soluble substances. Soap dissolves fatty substances, oils, grease, etc. Soap helps destroy viruses, bacteria by messing with their cell walls; water is better than nothing. Alcohol based hand cleaners, e.g. Purell don't get rid off dirt, but can destroy viruses and bacteria-not spores though-not good enough for c. Diff diarrheas.

Difficult to say: Please provide more information. It can be reaction of a  medication, diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome etc.

Why ?: Why not just use soap? It's less expensive and I am confident it will do a better job, since soap is formulated to remove grime from your skin and mouthwash is not.

Would be strange: It would be strange to get allergy to all hand soap. It usually starts when you have a skin lesion or skin rashes. Soap can irritate your already inflamed skin and make it worse and hard to heal. Skin lesions need to be seen and examined. See a local allergist or dermatologist for this problem.
