why do i start sneezing when i drink milk or eat ice cream? i'm 59 and this just started about 4 years ago?

: Allergies can develop later in life;this is not really a common allergy symptom from dairy products,but is possible.It could be exposure to something else that you are eating or in your environment at the same time.Try not having those food items,but eating/drinking other things in the same place where you have been sneezing.If no sneezing,then reintroduce to see if returns.Call your doctor also

Lactos intolerance: Sounds like a good case for lactose intolerance.  Some people lack the enzyme that breaks down milk sugar.  This causes intestinal cramping, bloating, diarrhea when milk or milk products are ingested.  Treatment is to avoid milk products or to take a replacement enzyme along with any ingested milk product.  Sold over the counter at grocery and pharmacy as lact aid (lactase).

Hard to guess: It can be hard to guess whether a woman is pregnant or not. A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period, or after having a "weird" period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test.

Allergies: You are already taking medicine to control allergies *( montelukast). You may want to add a daily antihistamine like Claritin (loratadine) or Zyrtec. Formal allergy or skin or blood testing is suggested.

Allergies : Allergies can trigger eczema.  Many times children with eczema will also have other allergy symptoms.  Egg, wheat  and milk allergy are the most common allergies in children worsening eczema.  At times it can be environmental such as dust and mold.  I would recommend a visit to your pediatrician to see if your son can benefit from a mild steroid cream similar to Hydrocortisone +  allergy testing.

No: No you should be just fine. If on exam you had an infection that's a different story. Follow up with primary care as needed.

i put prescription hydrocortisone cream inside of my nose. now i have been sneezing for hours and my nose won't stop running. is this bad?

Maybe rebound : Sneezing and runny nose are more commonly relayed to upper respiratory tract infections and allergic rhinitis. Depending on the hydrocortisone strength if used for 7 to 10 days or more there could be a rebound effect and taper ensued.  It may also be irritant rhinitis given that it's a cream.  Ointment or an actusl intranasal preparation is preferred. Discuss with thr prescribing doctor.

Stop eating it?: No, more seriously. It comes down to whether or not you are getting sick because it is a high-fat snack or whether you may be lactose intolerant. If you get sick with milk and other dairy products, the latter might be the problem. Otherwise, you just need to cut back the amount of ice cream you eat. If you think you are lactose intolerant, see your doctor. Good luck.

No: No. The only way you get HIV infection from a stranger is through sex or shared needles. Sharing ice cream only makes you fat.

GI work up: You may need to be worked up for gall stones that can give back pain while eating a fatty meal or cream.
