No more risk than: You are already at, and at risk for what?  It will continue your nicotine addiction, if you are already addicted, and help establish a nicotine addiction, if you are not already addicted. They may be better than combustible tobacco products, esp cigarettes, but in some ways that is like saying that it is safer to be shot with a 22 caliber bullet than a 45.  Both can harm and kill.

Cross addiction: many will turn to carbs to treat their nicotine cravings..    Chantix/wellbutrin/naltrexone canr control these urges.  Avoiding food triggers is important

There : There are two issues here to consider, one the effect of smoking on recovery from surgery and the other the effect of the drug, marijuana itself. Marijuana contains chemicals called cannabinoids that affect the central nervous system.

Smoking affects the ability of the lungs to oxygenate and clear particles and mucous from the lungs.  In general, for an elective procedure, surgeons recommend to stop smoking a week before surgery to allow the lungs to recover from the effects of smoking.

Cannabinoids tends to interact with a number of medications generally decreasing their effects when combined with anesthetic agens and other medications during and after surgery.

Stop using marijuana at least 1-2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

NO and YES: Smoking increases risk of heart attack among other very bad effects. Boxing is beneficial as exercise but risks brain injury. Exercise reduces the risk of heart attack.

No: No-- don't experiment with any other inhalants.

Exercise: Eating right is only one component of weight loss. Be sure to get at least 30 minutes of vigorous activity (running, rowing, biking) daily. Also, lift weights. The more lean muscle you produce, the more fat you will burn. Finally, be sure to get enough sleep. If you don't, your cortisol levels will be high, promoting the storage of fat. Hope this helps!

Burning your tongue: The most obvious danger of putting your cigarette "glow" on your tongue is burning your tongue.  Not deadly, but painful.  More long-term deadly would be lung or other cancer from smoking.  But, you already know that.

Not recommended!: Your smoking probably contributed to the narrowing of your renal arteries, perhaps significantly.  You might want to ask yourself why you would want to continue smoking after having a procedure that is not entirely benign.  Smoking is very addictive but there are methods and medicines that can support your through smoking cessation.  I hope that you will pursue these with your doctor and quit!

Nic patch: Not recommended to use a nicotine patch while still actively smoking as you can get too much nicotine which is bad for you.  STOP smoking, and then start the patch the next day.  Good luck,...you can do it!

i have been experiencing chest pains near and around my heart when smoking cannabis. i used to be a pretty regular user for about 5 years. from experiencing these pains i have decided to put it down for a whie but am concerned something could be wron?

: Best to try putting down first. If body still talking to you: LISTEN and take good notes and share with a Dr who can see and listen to and examine you.
