Yes...makes it high: Cigars, similar to cigarettes, contain a compound called nicotine. Nicotine is a known stimulant that can raise blood pressure. It also causes your blood vessels to constrict in your extremities. This can also raise your blood pressure.

Yes.: Anyone can have low blood pressure if they are healthy, and don't abuse their health.  But if you smoke, etc. Aside from the risk of cancer, you become at risk for heart disease and high bp, especially if you start early.  Conversely, if you stop smoking, your risk for cancer, heart disease, and high BP goes down.  Thus, it would be wise not to start smoking and save yourself a lot of trouble.

BP meds & ED: First of all, high bp, especially high systolic bp, is not good for your erectile function. If you are older, this is especially so. Diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide and spironolatone as well as beta-blockers such as atenolol can cause erection problems. There are some BP meds that may help you with erectile function, including arbs such as losartan and Alpha blockers such as doxazosin.

Yes: If you checked this pressure twice, once on each arm and this is the reading, then go to er asap. 110 diastolic at your age is hypertensive urgency/emergency. You could develop a stroke or heart attack.

Depends on you: An erection relies on blood flow and pressure, thus all blood pressure medications can in theory cause ed.However, the beta blocker family has been the most notorious for causing these issues, but it is also one of the classes of pressure medications which contributes to the health of the heart.  Even within the class, there are variations. Talk to your physician about your concerns to try options.

120/80 or less: This standard has been moving. It seems that the lowest pressure that is tolerated is best but generally we prefer less than 120/less than 80. Over 130 sytolic or 90 diastolic is undesirable.

Mucinex (guaifenesin): As long as you are not allergic, the following are good for most people: discomfort/fever: tylenol (acetaminophen) congestion: Mucinex (plain), nasal saline, Vicks vapor rub, drinking lots of fluids runny nose/sneezing: claritin, allegra, Benadryl cough: Robitussin dm, Mucinex dm, delsym you can often find combo products with the active ingredients of the above if necessary.

BP meds: If you've been regular with your medications for a long time, then missing one dose isn't going to make a huge difference. You could just take the next scheduled dose. If you're in the first week or so of the medicine, you can do what's generally best and ask your Doc what the Doc wants you to do.

Diet, exercise, meds: First make sure you are measuring BP after sitting down for several min. Make sure you are following a low sodium diet. Healthy  lifestyle including exercise is important too. If BP still elevated, talk to your doc about medication options.
