Possibly: Most likely this is sinus drainage from your recent infection, but there is a possibility that this could be cerebral spinal fluid.  You should go to your doctor so he or she can examine you and get further history to determine the cause of this drainage.

Infection!: Infection of the ear canal, or a middle ear infection that has resulted in tympanic membrane rupture can cause ear discharge that has an unusual color and odor.  This is called otorrhea and needs an evaluation and treatment.

Best to see MD: The ear is actually a closed system. The outer ear can't get to the middle ear due to the tympanic membrane. If there is discharge, either there is an infection , and a bad one in the canal causing it, but more likely an infected middle ear with perforation of the tympanic membrane causing fluid to go through. It is best to be examined and treated right.

Go back to your doc!: Sounds like you have otitis externa, or inflammation/infection of ear canals. It can be caused by microtrauma from cleaning with q-tips, chronic skin conditions like atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, increased keratin production, +/- bacterial or fungal infection. I don't know what med was given, but you should go back to your doctor to talk about what else can be done.

Ear discharge: There are several possibilities.  An infection in the outer ear canal could be the cause, but a cold doesn't usually cause this.  For the drainage to be from the middle ear area, it would have to pass through or rupture the tympanic membrane that would be very painful.  Colds  can be complicated by a middle ear infection.  You should call your doctor to be examined so you can receive proper care.

Ear infection: Most definitely not from teething. Needs to see Pediatrician immediately to treat the infection. Also, your child should be under the care of a Pedodontist, a Children's Dental Specialist, since his 1st birthday. If he has not yet been seen, make an Examination appointment now.
