Tonsils: If your tonsils have not been removed a common malodorous complaint are tonsilar concretions.  They are small, foul-smelling accumulations of food and bacteria sometimes coughed up into the mouth.  Ask your dentist.

i get a 'burning' feeling in the back of my throat and then major draining of phlegm with a chunk of solid material in it..why?

Probable nasopharyng: The nasopharynx is the area at the junction of the nasal cavity and upper throat which can have both acute and chronic infection.  The acute type has a sore throat, drainage, and often ear pain and can be viral or bacterial.  The chronic form has chunks of discolored drainage particularly in the morning with persistent daytime post nasal drip and sore throat.  Suggest bacterial culture.

i accidentally hit the back of throat (left tonsil) with my waterpik. it looked like a small chunk came out and now it won't stop bleeding and it's pretty painful. should i be concerned i've injured myself?

Exudates: Hard to tell. But it is likely exudates, commonly fluid/pus due to infection. Get checked for Strep. May need antibiotic to prevent spread of infection. Try gargles, Ibuprofen. Thanks.

Just a guess: but if you ever looked at your tonsils before you could have seen some little holes that had such stuff in them. It is the result of old infection.  May smell bad.  Not worrisome though.

Yes.: Little smeely white chunks are common in the back of the throat and are known as tonsoliths. Sometimes they can be coughed up or expressed from pockets in the tonsils.  They are nothing to worry about.

ate baked potato. the inside was fine, then i ate a large chunk of skin off it. it was very bitter and hurt my throat. still hurts. am i poisoned?

Potato Skin: The amount of solanine, which is present whenever there is green chlorophyll on the potato, would be too little on just one large chunk of potato skin to cause you to be poisoned.
