i had a single small red/white bump on soft palate for a couple days and its gone. in hiv mouth sores, would there only be one or would it be more?

More than one likely: There are more than one type or mouth sores usually related to hiv. Most have more to do with being immunosupressed- like candidiasis (ulcers caused by yeast infections), cold  and herpetic ulcers as well as leukoplakia ("hairy tounge").   The onset of a single small lesion that has healed is not an indicator that you have contracted hiv.   If you are still fearful, the best remedy is testing.

Likely: She has had a lengthy illness and her body may be having trouble fighting it. It may be an ulcer on her tongue related to this illness or a new illness, particularly if she is in a child are environment. Have her checked by your doctor. All the best.

Use soft toothbrush, rise your mouth with listerine and see the dentist to prevent biting inside your mouth.

If it is painful and/or has been present for 10 days or longer, have it examined by your dentist or an oral surgeon.

Is it worse with cit: Is worse with citrus food?if yes than this is salivary gland blocked usually us a self limiting u need to drink more water snd  and lines and lemons to dislodge an impacted stone in your salivary  gland. If the bump is not affected by citrus food u need to be seen by a dr for a possible biopsy to rule out cancer

Blocked gland !!!: There are salivary glands under the tongue and if blocked can present as a bump which may be painful. There are other causes as well and a thorough evaluation by a physician is necessary,, a referral to oral surgeon may be needed to asses it further.

Canker sore: also called aphthous ulcer is the most common oral lesion. Individual ulcers typically last 1-2 weeks. The condition is idiopathic (cause is not known) recurrent aphthous ulcers is usually self-limiting. Try to keep adequate oral hygiene as possible. If concerned, see your dentist for consultation.

Very common to: play with that bump on your tongue that is there because you bit it hard and caused some trauma and perhaps bleeding, and some inflammatory tissue built up in area causing a bump.  that will go away, may take couple weeks. in the meantime try not to play with it-:).
