May not lose: The 'j-pouch' refers to a loop of small bowel  that is used to fashion a new rectum after removal of the colon.  This can help to increase continence of stool as it acts as a storage reservoir like the actual rectum.  This fact alone will not lead to weight loss, but the disease that caused it to happen (usually uc or crohn's), and the associated malabsorption, may help one to lose weight.

at 22 i had a small colon adenoma removed. ive had 3 clean follow ups since as 1,3 and 5 yrs. can my surveillance intervals be stretched to 10 years now? im only 36.

Family history: If there is no family history of early onset colon cancer, it could be stretched to 10 years. Talk to your doctor and consider doing a FIT test each year to add one more measure to monitor.

No ...: ... On the contrary.  The smaller the polyp, the less likely it is to be "cancerous".  Sessile just means flat (harder to find) versus pedunculated (mushroom-shaped).  The precancerous type of polyps are adenomatous and serrated polyps (documented on pathology).  Hyperplastic polyps in general are almost always benign and never turn into cancer.

Nutrients are absorbed from the small intestine until the remaining material passes down the digestive tract to the colon to be excreted.
