Yes: Feeling sleepy and unable to focus during the day, falling asleep when you don’t intend to and not having a “clear head” are all symptoms of sleep apnea. If you believe you might have sleep apnea, see a sleep physician and have a sleep study done. This will provide the answers you seek.

Sleep apnea. : So by symptoms, do you mean daytime sleepiness and snoring?  If so, this could very well still be sleep apnea. A sleep study would tell us for sure.

Resource issues  : It can be very difficult to get these kinds of tests done if you live remote from healthcare resources. If you have a tape recorder, maybe you can tape yourself during a night's sleep. If you hear snorting even without snoring, that can be a hint that you stop breathing. Do all you can to get a proper diagnosis from a doctor so you can be treated. I wish you well.

i get botox in neck/head for headaches. since i started running it wears off extra quick, causing extra bad headaches and even sleep apnea like symptoms. would increasing the dose in certain muscles make it last longer? if not, any other solutions?

Absolutely YES: Not surprising to hear that BOTOX is not as effective.  Increasing dose will only cause muscle weakness locally and have no further headache protective benefit.  Time to move on.  There are many CGRP antagonists with impressive results.  Your neurologist can help select the one which seems best for you.

Reduced breathing: Sleep apnea is when you stop breathing while you are asleep. This results in waking up at night many times over and/or having reduced blood oxygen levels. Yes: In a word - yes. OSA can be devastating and destructive. The repercussions of inadequate oxygen supply to the brain as well as insufficient uninterrupted sleep to allow REM level sleep are numerous. Not necessarily: The number one daytime symptom of obstructive sleep apnea (osa) is sleepiness. Turns out that only about 20% of osa patients complain of sleepiness. Thus, the majoriy of osa patients may not subjectively perceive daytime symptoms. Overall, osa may be a sneaky creature which makes it imperative to actively seek for symptoms/predisposing factors.

Not that we : Are aware of. Symptoms include daytime sleepiness , restless sleep, loud snoring , waking up gasping for air, waking up with morning headache , waking up tired.

About apnea: The differential diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea can be quite extensive. If you are not feeling better on cpap, you need to be sure to follow up with your family physician. The practice of medicine is the art of continually checking in on the patient. Be sure your weight is ideal for your height, thyroid is normal, and is your sleep pattern normal. Is there any  underlying depression?
