i have sle lupus and my skin were is exposed i have a rash .. my scalp esp and is shedding hair over it! is there anything i can take or do 4 it? help

SLE: See a rheumatologist.  Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) is a well tolerated and often beneficial med for lupus.  Always wear sunscreen on sun exposed areas.

Work with your doc: Sle is very difficult to treat correctly.  Discuss this with your rheumatologist.

These may be lupus: These symptoms may be part of your lupus and depending on the causes the treatment for lupus are  directed  to treat these also. Just  because  you have lupus does not mean these are all due to one thing. Your  evaluation will help clarify.

Probably nothing: They are likely just normal variations in subcutaneous tissue but have your rheumatologist take a look if you are concerned.

There: Are meds for nerve pain which is what sounds like what you have. Talk to your doc to see if they will try one for you.

Sometimes...: We generally talk about lupus in 2 categories: systemic and cutaneous (localized in skin).  A subtype of cutaneous lupus called discoid lupus can cause dyspigmentation and scars in the areas of involvement.  Unfortunately, when chronic, the dyspigmentation becomes more or less permanent.  Systemic lupus can be associated with other autoimmune disorders such as vitiligo (depigmentation disorder).

Nothing OTC: Topical hydrocortisone cream OTC is not potent enough to do much.

Variable: These illnesses are very different and many factors are involved in order to give you even a "ballpark" figure. Your family physician who knows you best might be in a better position to give you a better answer.

Lupus Management: Only a dermatologist or rheumatologist can manage lupus and ehlers-danlos syndrome. Seek one out . . . Do it soon!

Lupus: Skin abscesses are very rare in either disease. I have personally never seen them unless the patient was on immunosuppressive meds. That said, lupus would be more likely to have them.
