Bad: Drastic changes in diet (eating and then skipping) is not good. It puts your body in a shock wave mode. Healthy, reduced portion eating is much better.

Yes: This is a defense mechanism from our more primitive days. When we skip meals, the body will store some fuel at the next meal just in case you skip a meal again. The body does this to provide protection against starvation. We usually still eat more calories than needed in a day so you may actually gain weight. Better to eat small meals and control total calories, than skip meals.

Losing weight if you have weight to lose, can be a great thing for your health, but don't ignore signs that your body is telling you if they are not going away. Salty snacks/ or lots of water  instead of eating  may cause edema , if  underlying heart/ kidney/ vein issues  Bloating  is related to stomach/intestine issues and may be due to irritable bowel, gastritis /H pylori, gallbladder/  acid .
