Bruising: Consider connective tissue disorder, anticoagulation from blood thinners, excess vitamin e, vasculitis, dermatitis, varicose veins, or more rare conditions of the dermis such as epidermolysis bullosa.

Many thoughts: I suspect this is not a major problem. These could be from trauma, It may actually be bruises, we could be related to medications you take. It may be related to other findings of your health system. Best to discuss with your physician.

Possible?: People who have the vascular subtype of ehlers-danlos syndrome often share distinctive facial features of a thin nose, thin upper lip, small earlobes and prominent eyes. They also have thin, translucent skin that bruises very easily. In fair-skinned people, the underlying blood vessels are very visible through the skin.

Yellow: The cause can be something as simple as eating a lot of foods high in vitamin a (carrots, yellow peppers) or as serious as hepatitis or liver cancer. See your doctor for an evaluation of your liver.

i was attacked by 2 dogs. neither pierced the skin, my arm is now swollen & covered w/bruises. any touch is excruciating. how can i treat the pain?

Advil (ibuprofen): But remember the dog encounter should be reported even if the skin was not pierced.

Using ice packs may help with the pain, use no more than 15 min at a time.

After 3 days, skip the ice and go to warm, moist packs--this should help speed the healing.

If any redness, sign of infection, then DR visit.

why does the skin on your arm around the area blood is taken from bruise after a blood test?

Bruise: The blood vessel is punctured when blood is withdrawn during a blood test. If the vessel is not compressed long enough, blood will leak out of the vessel giving a bruise.  Holding direct pressure with a cotton ball for 10 or 15 minutes is usually enough. However if a person is on platlet inhibitors such as asprin longer might be necessary.
