what to do if i have stage 2 kidney disease. is my sudden weight loss a sign of something serious?

Yes: First of all, weight loss must be analyzed further. Some patients accumulate lot of fluid when they have kidney disease and excrete lot of protein in the urine. If they are placed on water pills( diuretics) , they lose weight quickly. This has to be differentiated from actual muscle mass loss. Some disease that cause kidney disease can lead to weight loss. This must be checked with your doctor.

why does my teenage daughter keep getting kidney stones? she's just gone to the hospital for her third kidney stone. is this a sign of something more serious?

Children : Children that form kidney stones, especially multiple, usually have one or more of a variety of problems. For children that have normal urinary tracts (normal kidneys, normal ureters, and normal bladders) most of these children that do not have known syndromes or medical conditions will have underlying metabolic disorders that affect the way the kidneys filter and process minerals. Some children have low citrate levels, some have high oxalate, and some have other conditions. It is critical to evaluate the stones composition and the 24 hour urine studies on a child with kidney stones and especially with a child that has multiple kidney stones. 
It must be determined that the child has normal urinary tracts and any other syndrome or conditions that predispose to stones.

is it possible that prolonged and sudden onset back pain can be a sign of uterus / reproductive issues? no physios etc seem to think there's severe reason as to why my lower back pain hasn't ceased, plus i was told i had an hpv strain  1 yr ago?

: Gynecologic problems, among other conditions, can cause lower back pain.  Given your positive hpv , it is advisable to see your gynecologist.

i'm 10dpo.. suffering from severe lower back pain when bending forward and while sitting.. what does this mean?? sign of pregnancy??

Muscle pain?: One cause of your symptoms could be sore muscles in the lower back.  They may hurt to the touch also.  They are supposed to keep your spine straight, and they are bothered sometimes with sitting or bending forward.  When you lie flat on your back, does it help?  If it were pregnancy, this probably would not help.  Besides, a pregnancy test can help determine if that is the cause.

See a Doctor: You need to be examined and have a pregnancy test. Could be pregnant or have a pelvic inflammatory disease or infection.

: Septic abortion can progress rapidly and be lethal. Miscarriages can be spontaneous or require medication or an invasive procedure to evacuate the fetus. Also pregnancy hormone levels need to be repeatedly tested until it drops to 0 or insects or. Any concern for infection in a setting of a miscarriage before 20 weeks gestation needs an urgent in-person evaluation

Depends...: ... On what's actually wrong. Pain for infection, stone, and some tumors; swelling of the body for nephrotic syndrome; feeling terrible and not urinating for kidney failure; thirst and peeing a lot for fluid-wasting tubulopathies, blood in the urine / brown urine for mild nephritic syndrome.

Is it the kidney?: Most back pain is not related to kidneys.  If it is, it's usually related to a kidney stone, infection, or less likely a cyst or rarely loin-pain hematuria syndrome.  A urinalysis can help determine if kidneys are responsible for pain.  Would seek medical care for further evaluation.

Likley not that bad: Rec ct scan to look at it more closely.

how serious and common are lesions in your kidney? do they happen very often?

Accepted Answer

: "Lesion" only means an abnormal spot of some kind, no matter where in the body. There are several possible causes of kidney lesions that might show up on an Xray, CT scan or MRI, and no way to even guess without a lot more information about symptoms, why testing was done, etc. Discuss with the doctor who ordered the test(s). Good luck.
