Vit C & Abilify (aripiprazole): You can take these two with no conflict.  Vitamin c is water soluble and is a necessary vitamin for many processes in your body.  People usually tolerate it well, because dietary excesses of it are excreted.  At higher doses (above 1000 mg/day by mouth) it can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  It doesn't do this in everyone.

Vitamin C &amp; skin: There is little evidence that Vitamin C lightens skin, but some exists.  I see that you mention "dry itchy skin" in your history.  Please avoid any skin product that contains alcohol because it is drying.  Vitamin C lasts only 12  hours in the body.  Take 2 times daily.  Most importantly, try to move beyond the irrational attitude that lighter skin is better than darker.  Peace and good health.

: Thanks for asking! St John's Wort is probably the herbal that has the most potential and real herb-drug interactions, so it is wise to be very careful. EmergenCee as you note is mainly Vitamin C and is safe to take with SJW. The main question is what are you taking the herb for?

Yes, unlikely: Yes, this is not only a good idea but the minimum you should take. I advise all my patients to take 500-1000 mg of Vitamin C twice a day. 28 mg of iron is safe but you may need more if you're anemic. I advise iron bis-glycinate if available. C enhances iron abosrption. Iron may cause stomach upset and constipation but prob. not with such a low dose.
Be sure to take folic acid, ideally as L-5-MTHF.

: I do not think those symptoms are due to vitamin C at 3 gm a day. You may have a gastrointestinal infection, bacterial vs viral. This problem is usually self limited after 2-3 days. You can see a doctor if symptoms get worse or persist more than 3 days. However, you should not continue that high dose of vitamin C because of more risk than benefit. I wonder why you decide to take that high dose.
