More specifics: Do you mean the swollen nodes at the left side  of the neck and  not the whole body?  If so, it may mean that there is a sinus infection or dental abscess. I can't think of a condition which causes nodes to be enlarged involving much of the left side of the body. Perhaps you need a second opinion by seeing another doctor

: Swollen lymph nodes, if caused by medication, are generally on both sides of the body.  See your physician for an exam and other testing, as lymph nodes can represent other forms of disease.

Get a medical examin: If the nodes are new, painless, not related to a sore throat, you should have your doctor to examine you and advice further. If the nodes are small(less than 1 to 1.5cm(half an inch) you can watch them for one month to see if they go down or get bigger. If they are getting bigger then you have to be concerned and must see your doctor then.

i have a few swollen lymph nodes on the left side of my neck for approx 6 months...what can cause this....should i get checked out?

Yes: Any issue with the mouth or upper airway can lead to enlarged node in the neck. It would be good to get is checked. If the node doubles in size, more nodes become large, there is pain or redness, you get fever or lose weight, it would be prudent to seek care at the earliest.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

each month i get swollen lymph nodes on both sides of my neck, that last four a week or so had it for over 2 years but getting more frequent?

Go see an ENT doctor: It could be just repeated viral infections(colds) but you need to be sure that you do not have strept throat. A visit to your ENT doctor can help. If you want to try controlling it on your own, i wiould sugges that you try taking vitamin c, 500mg daily and give it a 6 month trial(it is pretty cheap vitamin). This may help, in which case you should continue taking it on a regular basis.

i have an intermittent pulling sensation in the right side of my neck on the side.i possibly have swollen lymph nodes there. could this be the cause?

More info: So you actually feel a lump - is that correct?
How long has it been there? Days/weeks?
Do you have fevers/chills/weight loss?

If there is no palpable lump; " intermittent pulling sensation " can be due to many other causes - so have you done any heavy lifting/exercise recently?

If there is a lump have it examined by a medical doctor.

i'm 22 with 2 swollen lymph nodes on 1 side of my neck for 7 months. they are painless, soft, kinda movable, small, & have not grown. should i worry?

Lymph nodes: Probably not. Probably they are reactive lymph nodes- either from chronic inflammation on the throat or something in your mouth like gum inflammation or tooth problems etc. Since they have been there for 7 months- next time you see your doctor bring this up so your md can examine them. If you're worried or if they grow , absolutely you should  see your md sooner to evaluate more.

Not likely: Lymph nodes on one side of the neck need to be evaluated by your physician and a complete physical needs to be done.  If you are smoking, please stop.

Lymphadenopathy: Very non-specific could be related to any type of infection
you should have your son examined by his pediatrician for additional testing and advice.
