its been 10 days since ive had impacted wisdom teeth removed. the molars on one side are suddenly excrutiatingly sensitive to cold, and throb.

No relation: No relation to 3rd molar extraction.  Sensitivity may be due to cavities, fractures, gum recession, faulty and traumatic occlusion, or other causes.  Please see your Dentist before this gets worse.

is it possible for impacted wisdom teeth or tmj to cause an enlargement of thyroid on one side? its not large enough to be visibly noticeable however?

: No. Teeth nor TMJ affect the thyroid gland. You may have an enlarged lymph gland.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

i just got my 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed on monday. 8/12 there's a bump on my cheek that formed and that side is swollen. should i be worried?

Post op swelling: If the swelling occurred overnight on the day the wisdom teeth were removed, and it's going down each day, it's probably normal. If the swelling has increased then you definitely need to call the surgeon and let him\her know. It might be infected. No matter what, we cannot tell you for sure what's going on. Therefore you need to call your surgeon right away.

Call the surgeon: May be within normal limits, but let the surgeon that did the proceedure check it out for you.

Coincidental: Probably 2 separate problems.  Both need attention.  See Primary Care Physician, referral to ENT Specialist may be in order.  See your General Dentist, referral to Oral Surgeon may be in order.

PAIN: People with true pain will often go to great lengths to remove the source. Having teeth close together without pain would not be considered clinically important and thus not drive one to have the teeth pulled. Timed removal of select, paired lower and upper teeth during the pre-teen or teen years may prevent the wisdom teeth from becoming impacted & decrease the need later.

They are of no use: If they are impacted then they are of no use. Ask your surgeon to evaluate the surrounding tissue and to advise you of your options.

Wisdom teeth: Horizontally impacted wisdom teeth need to be removed surgically.. they are not simple extractions. It is impossible to predict exactly what would happen if you don't remove them, but trapping bacteria and food under the gingiva can cause periodontal issues and caries on the adjacent teeth. A local oral surgeon can give you better guidance for your particular situation.

The answer is: Usually yes, especially if the impacted teeth are causing problems such as infection, pain, or damage to the adjacent tooth or periodontal tissues. Consult w your dentist on the rationale for removal.

Get pain meds..: Probably the best thing for now is to go to your dentist and/or see your doctor to find out what pain meds. You can have during and after the procedure.  For yourself, simple pain meds., like aspirin, tylenol, (acetaminophen) or advil may also help..
