Accepted Answer

Not usually: Plain x-ray is not a usual modality to evaluate blood vessels.  If by "widening" you mean dilatation or aneurysm, ultrasound is the most common diagnostic tool to start with.  However, depending on location of the vessel ct or MRI may be reasonable starting points. Ct does use xray.  Angiography is a diagnostic tool I use when treating blood vessel disease and is very good at evaluating  as well.

pet shows lung mass is deep and surrounded by blood vessels,  is suggesting u/s guided biopsy.  is this the best option?  next to affected lymph node.

Sounds like it: If it were my lung, I would have had one of my colleagues needle it at once. Be brave.

Repeat US: AT 7 weeks of gestation, the fetus is approximately a quarter of an inch in length, about the size of a pea.  On US, several structures can be seen and at this age the heartbeat can be detected. It is too early to see formed blood vessels reliably.  Repeat the US since it is operator dependent, when the fetus is a few weeks older. Thrombophilia can be a cause of fetal loss, but usually later

Normal findings: Such reports will usually contain wording that represents what was seen rather than just a "normal findings" statement.

: MRV’s are done, generally, with contrast.  Since your MRV was done w/o contrast, I don’t know if the image would show if there was damage to blood vessels as an image with contrast.  Ask Physician about your concerns.

Accepted Answer

Possible: Complicated question as there is not enough data - most breast CA recurs early, but not always.  Usually dependent on hormone receptor status. I would be concerned about another cancer producing these nodules - could also be nothing....

would a contrast-enhanced ct pulmonary angiogram also show lesions, abnormalities, masses, nodes, etc. of the lung or does it only show the blood vessels? (basically, does it provide more or less information than regular chest ct?)

Depends on how obtai: To perform a CT pulmonary angiogram, you actually have to get scanned twice - once without dye, once with. A "regular" chest CT is only performed once. So, you should get some information about the lungs itself (masses, nodes, lesions, etc.) from a pulmonary angiogram CT unless it was obtained improperly or under an unusual protocol. Note, also, that even a CT can miss small nodes, lesions, masses

Yes: The vessels are remodeling all of the time. However if you are talking about a vessel that has an aneurysm or clogged with plaque then no they can not heal those lesions and a surgical correction is required.

Accepted Answer

Black and blue.: If a vein is damaged from trauma, usually you will see discoloration of the skin either immediately after the injury or several days later.  This occurs from blood escaping from the vein and leaking into the skin.  Initially this may be dark (black and blue) and over several days as the body absorbs the blood, the color changes to yellow and then resolves.
