No play: Better to give rest for your knee for a week and then use some splinter for knee for next 2 weeks.

Knee: If you are able to walk on it without discomfort, it would be reasonable to continue with cool compress, ace wrap and NSAID. You probably have some degree of fluid on the knee from the injury. This should resolve in a week or so.  If persistent after that I would recommend being seen.

Play but protect: If you have no pain you can play but i would recommend protection over the bruised site to avoid further trauma and hematoma formation.

Yes: Very likely you had a small collection of blood beneath the skin called a hematoma and/or bursitis if the affected area is in front of the kneecap. It often takes several months for the body to naturally resorb the blood and for the soft tissue to become flat and smooth again. This area is very sensitive to pressure because of the lack of fat/cushioning. You will continue to get better!

Best to sit it out..: Hi,
sorry but the advice has to be to sit it out and wait.  Unfortunately playing soccer with an injured knee just puts you at higher risk of further injury and therefore being out of action for longer or worse still having something go seriously wrong.

If you can't help but get stuck in make sure you wear a knee brace and be careful!

Knee: It would not hurt to see your PCP or an Sports physician before you play again to rule out serious internal damage.

i have anterior knee pain on my right knee. can i still go to the gym regularly and do lower body exercise? can i still play soccer or rugby?

Knee pain: This can't be diagnosed with the information that is available. A history, physical examination &amp; other studies may be needed to determine cause/causes.  Can't tell you if soccer &amp; ruby are safe without knowing more.

so i had sergury on my knee on my meniscus. i camw back to play soccer over 2 years without playing. second game i play my knee starts hurting again.?

Rest.: If you've been away from a sport for 2 years, chances are you are deconditioned, and an injury can occur regardless of whether you had meniscus surgery or not.  I recommend resting initially, then easing back into sports (especially soccer which is full of pivoting).  Work on building quad strength, hamstring flexibility.  In these first few weeks of renewed exercise, be cautious!

Infra patellar pain: How old are you?  If you are skeletally mature the most common problem in that area is patellar tendinitis or tendinosis. If just starting an antiinflammatory for 5 days and icing can help. If longer than 6 weeks probably not inflamed. See a sports medicine physician for a good kinetic chain eval and advise on treatment.
