Don't weight bear: There should be no weight bearing. it should be wrapped or splinted and you should be using crutches unde the direction of your doctor

See a Dr.: A badly sprained ankle that you cannot bear weight on should definitely be evaluated by a Dr.   Go for an X-ray to make sure you did not fracture any bones in your foot/ankle.   The base of the 5th metatarsal on the outside of your foot is commonly fractured in a severe ankle sprain.

A good Start.: Still a little pain and swelling means that the ankle is still unstable. Two weeks is not enough time for a sprain of any substance. You may have to go 4 to 6 weeks for optimum recovery. Of course this is only guess work since you have not disclosed the severity of the sprain. You might try a little heat to speed the healing up.

Reinjury: If you didn't let your ankle heal properly with rest for several weeks, most likely it didn't heal completely and everytime you walk, the inflammation comes back.  I would see an orthopedic doctor.

Perhaps: Yu should be suing crutches and not stepping on the ankle which sounds like its not a simple strain but rather a grade two or three. Ice as often as possible. Keep it elevated when possible. Is it wrapped up? If not, sounds like it should until the immediate swelling goes down. Walking on a badly sprained and can lead to chronic lateral ankle instability.

See doctor.: To me there are 2 issues:
1) you may need to eat slightly less due to less activity but too much fasting may deprive your body of the nutrients it needs to heal your ankle.   
2) you may need to get your ankle examined to make sure nothing else going on apart from a sprain if you are still troubled.
For both issues seeing a doctor licensed in your area will be able to give you specific advice.

Yes: Gradually increase activity as tolerated. Mild ankle sprains heal best with weight bearing as tolerated. Try and avoid uneven walking surfaces until your ankle is pain free when walking

You should be ok: You'll probably get a walking splint &amp; be scheduled for intensive physical therapy. Let your doc know about your pain, &amp; do keep your therapy appointments. Your sprain should be healing well. I hope that helps.

Yes: Depending on the severity of the ankle sprain casting can be a treatment option.  There are several ligaments that hold your ankle together and when enough of them are torn, the ankle can become unstable requiring a cast.  In some cases they need to be surgically repaired.  In most cases, however, an ankle sprain an be treated with a removable boot although sometimes you still need to use crutches.
