Skin on your feet: Somewhere between 99% and 101% of young men who are physically active have at least a few palpable lymph nodes in their groin. Trusting you're std-free. The usual biopsy diagnosis is either nonspecific of dermatopathic lymphadenopathy -- an athlete's feet get roughed up in his shoes and socks, and products of injury drain to the protective groin nodes.

i have been diagnosed with bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy. but my inguinal lymph nodes do not hurt at all? does this diagnosis sound right?

Need work-up: Bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathies-mean-you have lymph nodes enlargement that are located on both groins area. Now, it is not a diagnosis-it is just a sign/clinical finding. Diagnosis still has to be made. There are different things that can cause above finding- inflammation, autoimmune problem, infection, malignancy etc. Please go to see your md for eval- ie-blood work, imaging, biopsy etc.

Don't assume: No, it is not normal and should be evaluated by your doctor.  It can be a sign of infection in the vaginal area in some cases.  It can also be the result of "varicosities" in the vulva - this is more normal.  Go get examined by your ob/gyn and have them assess exactly what is going on!

i got ct scan of abdomen and pelvis last july and it showed inguinal lymphadenopathy and a possible inflammatory change in colon.my doctor wants to repeat ct to look at lymph nodes and since i've been ill for a year.should i worried about radiation?

: It is correct that you are concerned about radiation exposure with CT of the abdomen and pelvis.
I would not have it done if you have been free from all GI symptoms since then.
The test is indicated if you are still suffering with lower GI symptoms; however, a colonoscopy with biopsy is more helpful for diagnosing chronic inflammatory bowel syndrome.
I' m not concerned much about the adenopathy.

How does he FEEL?: If the nodes are not huge or obviously abnormal, it's likely you'll never find the cause and it will prove to be a non-problem. I'm glad the CBC was normal. If Junior is otherwise well, be thankful that he's probably helathy.

Wait and see: I'm certain that someone somewhere has had fixed nodes that were biopsied and found to be benign.  The term fixed or mated nodes brings to mind conditions such as lymphoma.  Best not to speculate but wait and see the pathology report.  Best of luck.

hello, i had ct with contrast and the report said multiple shotty mesenteric and retropernial with adjacent fat stranding. and the other comment said no pathologic lymphadenopathy. by radiologic size criteria. should i worry about mesenteric lymphoma?

Probably not: The findings you describe are not uncommon, and are non-specific. Some radiologists will use the term mesenteric panniculitis or lymphadenitis (inflammation of the mesenteric fat or lymph nodes) to give it a diagnosis. Early work on this finding associated it with abdominal lymphoma, but that didn't hold up over time. I would need to see the actual images to point to one diagnosis vs. another.

i have had a lump in groin for 3 months that has gotten more prominent. cbc, urinalysis, and sti testing normal. ultrasound showed four enlarged lymph nodes (all between 1 and 1.4 cm) but said presumptively, reactive lymphadenopathy. likely normal?

Common : From the size &amp; location it suggests you had a skin infection, bite or other trigger for lymph node activation within the area served by those nodes. In this case the leg or skin nearby in the groin. It does not suggest cancer.

can mononucleosis cause a low-grade fever for over a month? i am also experiencing general lymphadenopathy of the left prosterior cervical chain, right supraclavicular swelling, and bilateral inguinal swelling. my viral load is only 1528/copiesml?

: Yes:  mono can last several weeks. Probably that's the only thing wrong. Keep following the advice of the clinic or doctor who made the diagnosis. Good luck.

Common: This is often a benign finding, but if large and bulky or matted or progressively increasing in size or very firm or painful, may want to have these evaluated.
