Incomplete RCT: If the tooth had RCT, even if filled short, it's unlikely the tooth is sensitive to hot, cold and sweet. The source of that pain may be coming from another tooth. Having said that, you might have to have the RCT redone by a better qualified dentist. If none available you probably should have the tooth extracted if it hurts or there is an infection present.

Failing RCT: If there is a qualified dentist preferably an Endodontist (specializes in Root Canal Therapy) get a consult to see if the RCT can be redone properly with a good prognosis. Otherwise you will probably need to get the tooth extracted.

Confusion: You are confused about two different procedures. Root canal therapy is one procedure. Placing a crown on a tooth is a different procedure. Since it is difficult to determine, over the internet, exactly what your problem is, have your dentist explain to you in detail what treatment you need.

Post root canal: You really need to have a permanent restoration as soon as possible after your root canal is completed. Prior to that you would have a temporary filling in your tooth. You could risk breaking the tooth or having it get contaminated. So please get it filled ASAP!

Depends: If you are referring to the sensitivity then give it a few days for the tooth to calm down.  If the filling is really deep and it is too close to the pulp (nerve) then you may need root canal.  Let your dentist determine that.

Maybe Numbing: Not sure why your procedure had to be completed in 2-steps; however, usually the second step is relatively simple in nature.  The 'difficult' part is done in the initial visit, if you doing a 2-visit procedure.  That said, numbing may be necessary; soreness afterward, most probably none.

Healing: Especially if cavity was deep, may take considerable time to become comfortable.  Cold sensitivity better than hot.  Discuss this w your Dentist who knows you better than we do.  Root canal treatment is an option, but may not be necessary.  Give it time.

Reasons vary: It is not uncommon that recent root canal therapy remains painful to the tooth. The tooth may need as long as a year to heal from the therapy, so it is common that a dentist simply fills the hole and monitor before placing a new crown. The tissue under the tooth could swell and the crown may need to be reshaped, so a new crown later may not be a bad idea. Ask your dr about your specific situation.

i just began my root canal today but they filled it with medicine and a temporary filling and 2 return 1 week . but part just fell out what do i do ?

Temp Filling: We get these calls all the time. The temporary is a clay like material and the outer part tends to wear away or break off a bit... usually without consequence. Unless you have a really bad taste in your mouth from the medication or if a  sharp edge of the tooth is cutting you, you should be fine until your next visit.
