Calcium: for most people, one calcium tab twice daily containing 500 -600 mg elemental calcium is a good dose.  There are many brands, virtually all acceptable.

Neither: Best to obtain calcium from diet.  Although calcium is important for muscle contraction, magnesium is essential for muscle relaxation. Excellent sources of dietary calcium contain both. Vit d3 increases the uptake of both. Sugar, salt, and fat decrease the uptake of minerals. Avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and junk food, getting a good night sleep and jump roping, the perfect exercise, all help.

Talk to prescriber: Talk to the doctor that recommended the medicine. Shelcal Syrup is used for the treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency - best that the dosage recommendation be done by your baby's doctor as they are most familiar with your child's medical history

Several thots: First, best to find out why your muscles seem weakened, and sort out nerve or muscle disorders.  If you are referring to a muscle relaxant drug, you might benefit from physical therapy or an exercise program.  Second, not sure what medication you refer to, but could discuss both diagnosis and appropriate treatment with your regular family physician.

Determine cause: It would be important to determine the cause of such low levels of Vit D and B12.  Is there a GI disorder causing malabsorption?  Colitis? Sprue?  Is there a parasite?  Previous GI surgery?

No: 60,000 iu of Vit D a month averages to 2000 iu/day which is not high at all.  Most adults need 5-8000 iu/day to achieve optimal blood levels of 50-80. 60,000 iu/month is not close to being able to create  D toxicity and not known to cause kidney problems. Calcium and Vit D: This is a combination of calcium and vitamin D. Ask a local pharmacist for something they carry with both those incgedients and have her take it twice a day. The calcium in Shelcal CT is 500 mg. This is pretty standard so you should have no trouble finding a substitute.
