I : I do not know if there is a portion of the needle in her finger. Was part of the needle that broke off unaccounted for? Is her finger red, swollen, tender to the touch or warm? I recomomed that she be evaluated to determine if there is a foriegn body and to ensure that it is healing.

If not totally torn: If it is an incomplete tear, you could try superglue. Hand washing will cause the glue to loosen so you may need to repeat, until the nail has grown out enough for you to clip it. Be careful.

If this happens see an ophthalmologist immediately.

Q: can you get hepititis through a needle stick?

No.: Assuming you were using clean needles than you should not be abke to contract any transmissible diseases.

Q: as a diabetic type 1take needles dailydo i always need to use rubbing alcohol, i've seen people do it through their pants. i always use a new needle?

Sterilize injxn site: Even with a new needle, injecting thru pants can potentially introduce germs into the injection site, especially if the pants are dirty. Rubbing alcohol is quick, easy, cheap—far cheaper than an infection. Betadine might be used but is messy & discolors skin unless wiped off with alcohol. Prevention is always better.

Q: what setting on my c-pap machine will help me get through a whole night without waking up?

It depends.: This depends on what continuous pressure that can be set on your machine so that you can have airway flow when you don't inhale or exhale. CPAP is airway pressure that keeps the airway open without any aid or interference in a person's breathing, and no ventilator cycling. The person must initiate all breaths, hence the name continuous positive airway pressure. Try during breaths or see your dr.

No shot needed.: If it's a non-rusty sewing needle, it's unlikely you will need tetanus shot.  This shot lasts 5-10 years.  If you haven't had the shot over 6 years. It;s best to get another one.  This will protect you for future deep wound or cut injuries that may put you at risk for tetanus.
