Were both Rx-ed?: If the doctor that prescribed each knew about the other then they thought it was ok. Each is not without its risks and if you can get by with just one then that might be best, but they sometimes are prescribed together.

Not recommended: Seroquel (quetiapine) is an anti-psychotic medication used for serious psychiatric disorders. It is not recommended as a sleeping aid. The main question: Is why you have insomnia in the first place.  What evaluations have you had for this?  There are many causes -- and although the seroquel and Ambien (zolpidem) may knock you out, this does not get to the root cause of your problem.  Also, Ambien (zolpidem) is habit-forming, and in time you'll need more medication for the same effect.  You might consider seeing a sleep medicine physician for evaluation.

COMPLICATED: Several issues. Make sure Adderall is taken early enough. Reduce or stop caffeine. Exercise early in the day. Have a good sleep /wake routine. Other sleep aides like Restoril (temazepam) may be better.

Yes: There's no inherent problem taking seroquel (quetiapine) and Ambien (zolpidem) together, except that their combined sedation can add up to more than you expected.  So be careful and take them only as prescribed.

i took seroquel 50 mg for a few months last year for insomnia. started swelling stopped it. taking it again along w ambien 10 mg. been off and on ambien for long time. now i am havingside effects of bad dizziness w combo after being on for two weeks?

Seroquel (quetiapine): Seroquel can take some time to get used to. It is very sedating and if you combine it with ambien (zolpidem) I am not surprised that you are getting dizzy. Talk to your doctor about dose adjustments and maybe hold off the ambien (zolpidem).

NO: You are having either drug resistance to medication or an improbable case of chronic insomnia. I suggest a sleep study to rule out obstructive sleep apnea . Ask about Rozerem (ramelteon) and Belsomra, new, non- addictive forms of sleeping medication. Ambien and temazepam are both quite sedating and potentially addictive. Speak to you prescribing physician.

seroquel and luvox stopped working after 14 years, i can't sleep with ambien (zolpidem).  i'm screwed, and scared i'm gonna die.

Not sure why fearful: If you're having trouble sleeping at night. I will tell you that a LARGE part of the reason is the fact that you've been on medications for 14 years that now are no longer working for that problem. I'd've been more scared of being ON THOSE medications for so long! You should be evaluated for insomnia &amp; have the root cause identified &amp; addressed not just become unnecessarily dependent on more pills

my mother is taking seroquel...ambien and xanax (alprazolam). 200mg seroquel and 120 pills of 1mg xanax (alprazolam) not sure of the dosage of ambien. is this okay?

Too many sedatives: Without knowing the exact regimen my best comment is to note that care must be taken when using multiple medications with sedative effects.  I assume the Ambien is for sleep and the Xanax (alprazolam) is for anxiety.  I would argue both are short-term interventions and she will be best served if alternative approaches are explored.  The only thing I can say with certainty is that she should NOT drink alcohol!
