No sensitivity loss: These tests do not lose sensitivty over time. A negative result at almost 3 months is almost 100% conclusive. However, to reach 100% certainty, you also need an antibody test, if not already done.

Usually, a doctor has to interpret all the lines of clinical and lab evidence when assessing someone's status. Repeat testing: It can take 3 - 6 months for the HIV antibody test to become positive if people have been exposed. We usually repeat at 6 months to make sure. It is very important to use condoms with all sex to avoid being exposed or exposing others.

High: Since the test is looking for the virus itself it is very specific. There should be no false positives of titers that are significantly above the minimum of detection (of course some human error is always possible).
Similarly, since it amplifies any detected viral RNA a million-fold, it is also very sensitive.

NO : Typically with HIV there are no symptoms until the disease has progressed.  The symptoms of HIV do not include the symptoms of fibromyalgia.

: You have no cause for worry. Any source advising more than 6 weeks (or 45 days) misunderstands the test or wrongly is confused with other tests, not AgAb (4th generation) HIV blood tests. The only exception is when anti-HIV drugs are taken for post-exposure prophylaxis. If PEP fails, it can take up to 6 weeks after the last dose of drug.

Well, I : Would take another test later but HIV doesn't have many symptoms until u get aids, that's why we screen for the virus.  Whatever is going on it doesn't sound like hiv.

: Typical testing regimen is at 1 month (more than 28 days) and 6 months. If either is positive, you will be offered medications that reduce the viral load in your bloodstream. You should talk to your Dr about using PrEP while you are waiting for results, and even if they come back negative. These prophylactic meds can prevent HIV infection during high risk encounters.
