We may suspect appendicitis based on symptoms & exam findings; a ct of the abdomen can be very helpful in certain cases. However, when suspected, it is best to remove the appendix rather than wait for rupture to occur.

Not diagnositic: Blood test do not diagnose appendicitis,  elevated blood cell counts in a person with right lower quadrant pain support the diagnosis.  Imaging studies are more reliable than blood tests.

CT Scan: Acute appendicitis is diagnosed by the history, physical exam, a blood test to see if there is an infection, and ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis which is very sensitive at detecting acute appendicitis or complications of appendicitis.

Yes: If you have acute abdominal pain and a fever, go the emergency room or your doctor and they will examine you and take a blood test.  When they push on your abdomen, they will look for a "rebound" sign or if you have tenderness on the right.  If the doctor thinks you have appendicitis, they will order a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis which is extremely sensitive at detecting acute appendicitis.

Call your MD: I would say that unless something was missed on the cat scan, that you may want to either call the hospital about your concern, call your family doctor, or go back. I would also suggest that you ask to see a surgeon before leaving this time.  Sooner rather than later.

Radiology study.: Blood tests will be able to tell you if you have a chronic condition causing inflammation.  An elevated white blood count, c reactive ptlrotein etc.  It will be sensitive but won't tell you it is appendicitis.  A good history and physical exam with a radiology study will help to define the source of your pain.  25 year old female the first thing is a pregnancy test.  Then ovarian cyst then appendi.
