Ignore it: It may simply reflect his enjoyment of yellow vegetables or tiny food particles that adhere to the rough surface of the tongue.

Possibly a sore..but: Try to determine with your tongue (or finger) if it feels like there is a foreign thing there - can your tongue feel "edges" or "shape"?  If so, you might have a small fish or chicken bone stuck in your tonsil!!!!!   That is REALLY rare!

With a history of canker sores, they can "feel sharp" when your tongue rubs against it.  Look in a mirror -- if see something, OR if not better, see doctor!

Be gentle: You only want to remove the loose material from your tongue when you scrape it.  There is no need to be vigorous or to go deep.

Thrush?: It could be candidiasis or thrush.  It could also be discoloraction from smoking if you are a smoker and there are many other things that it could be that cannot be determined without a proper exam.  You need to make an appointment to see your dentist as soon as possible.

Yes: Don&#x27;t rely on an online remedy.  See a local General Dentist or better yet an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist for a medical and dental history along with a proper diagnosis, and treatment if necessary.

White spot: Irritation from teeth as a cause sounds plausible. We see this all the time. Best to determine which tooth/teeth and smooth off. If it's a habit, you need to be conscious of it and try to stop. Generally we like to have these lesions gone in 2-3 weeks. If not, best to see an Oral Surgeon to confirm diagnosis and monitor.
