Pain: The sciatic nerve is a large nerve that is composed of many smaller nerves that come out of the lower back and run down each leg.  They merge and separate like an interstate highway system.  The nerve may be irritated by a spinal problem (herniated disc, spinal stenosis, arthritis), or a muscle spasm. In either case, sciatica is when the injured nerve causes pain going down the leg.

Shooting pain: Typically shooting pain in the leg. Occasionally through the buttocks or radiating to the hip or lower leg. Can be accompanied by burning, tingling, or numbness.

Sciatica cure?: Depends on the source of your pain. If the pain comes from a compressed nerve root in the lower back, a simple decompression or even an injection can do wonders! general stretching, strengthening and some anti-inflammatories hopefully keep you out of the operating room!

Wouldn't normally: Think of sex as a cause for sciatica. Perhaps if an individual was in sexual positions that caused pressure to sciatic nerve it could trigger already existing sciatica.

Possibly: If by "repaired" you mean pain alleviated and the condition reversed.  Sciatica is a layman's term for pain in the leg.   Is is often caused by irritation of a spinal nerve (e.g. Due to herniated disc).  There is a procedure to relieve the pain and let the disc heal.  It is a "cold" radio frequency procedure on the nerve root called pulsed rf.  I have written about it-look up articles-see web.

Yes: Body position during intercourse can lead to shifting of spinal bones. Try to use back pain and sciatica exercises along with heat or cooling as management.

It may not: Sciatia is a rather generic term for symptoms/trouble arising from injury to the sciatic nerve. Depending on where the injury is, sciatica may go away on its  own--i.E falling/trauma to your hip/thigh may injure the nerve which may heal in a couple of wks. If u have a disc herniatation pinging on it, it may wax/wane but not going away until disc is fixed. If u have trouble, consult doc. Good luck.
