Depends on the cause: Pressure on the nerves can occur for a variety of reasons.  If it is herniated discs pressing on nerves going down your leg, you can develop pain, tingling and even weakness.   It is best to relieve that pressure, as soon as possible.  This will decrease your pain and allow the nerves to return to normal and weakness to improve.

Many possibilities: It could be caused by many different conditions: sacroiliac joint dysfunction, myofascial gluteal pain, disc disruption, 'sciatica' from a compressed nerve in your back, 'sciatica' from a compressed nerve in your buttock muscle (piriformis syndrome), referred pain from the hip, back, etc.  I'd suggest you see a physician to find the source.  Work up may include emg/ncs, x-rays, mri, or other tests.

Sacro-iliac joint: New "sciatica" opposite from herniation can be extension of herniation, neurogenic inflammation of the lowest lumbar discs, a piriformis syndrome or a sacro-iliac joint dysfunction secondary to overworking your right side attempting to protect left side.  You need exam to try to pin down the specific cause and treat that cause!

More info needed: We need to have more details about your left sided discomfort. Sciatica causing discomfort in the left buttock and leg can also be accompanied by discomfort in the left lower back from disc disease. Other causes of left sided discomfort would be kidney or descending colon pathology. Consult your physician for evaluation. Appropriate tests can be ordered.

Neck pain: Yes. Neck pain that radiates down the arm is similar to back pain that radiates down the leg. Both are caused by a pinched nerve root. The cause is usually a herniated disc and/or a bone spur. Physical therapy, cervical traction, cortisone injections, and neuropathic pain medicine can relieve the pain. If these conservative measures fail to eliminate the pain, then surgery may be necessary.

there is a pain in my left leg(calf area) specially when i ride a motorbike,and i even have sciatica problem..what steps should i take to cure it?

Sciatica is always: secondary to another medical problem. Encourage medical evaluation to determine the cause of your sciatica.  This will allow provider to see if the cause can be remedied. In the meantime - acupuncture can be helpful with pain due to sciatica Take care.

Possible: It is possible you have a radicular pain. That happens when there is inflammation in the spinal canal that causes pressure in the nerve that exits the canal at that level and causes pain. Commonly people call it 'pinched nerve'. Sciatica is a type of radicular pain. Hip pathology should also be considered.

Epidural: Depending on the cause of the sciatica, you could really benefit from an epidural steroid injection.

Need a physical exam: You should have a doctor examine it.  Could be several things, but with persistent pain you should get it checked out.  The size difference could be due to swelling, or some sort of mass.
