Likely unrelated..: But .... the endometriosis &amp; sciatica are chronic problems &amp; hopefully you have a strategy for dealing with those. Coughing up blood (hemoptysis) is most pressing concern..on "bicycle" makes more sense than "menstrual cycle."  But there is a VERY RARE condition called catamenial (related to menses) hemoptysis in which endometriosis occurs in the LUNG! Needs prompt eval; mention this to doc.

Suspected: Perhaps one of the ob-gyns will also respond.
Endometriosis is an anatomical pathological tissue diagnosis but can be suspected from clinical signs and symptoms and pelvic examinations.
Proof is histologically.

Endo: Not all gynecologists have the same laparoscopic skills to resect endometriosis which is the mainstay of the treatment. Not everybody evaluates the patients looking for other coexisting painful conditions.

Not typical: Usually endometriosis causes painful periods, but not chronic back pain or pelvic pain.

Yes: Surgery is the only way to make a diagnosis so either way you will know. Your doctor can take biopsies to confirm anything suspicious.

Endo dx: Only of there is a mass, ultrsound is very non specific tool. Laparoscopy continues to be the gold standard for the diagnosis of endometriosis.

Accepted Answer

Check on placebo: Your MD could check an FSH level towards the end of your placebo week, although it could miss it. You are awfully young to be looking at mean pause, although premature menopause can happen. If you were going trough premature menopause, the most likely treatment would be low dose OCPs, which you are on.

A lot depends: on severity of your symptoms. response to empiric treatment, and your general medical condition.  And sometimes diagnosis cannot be confirmed even at laparoscopy.  Follow your gyn's advice.

endometrioma cyst what does that diagnosis mean? does it also mean i have endometriosis? getting fed up with no answers from my doctor!

Yes: Endometriosis is presence of endometrium outside of the uterus. When it is found on the ovaries, its considered endometrioma. Once they get larger, you'll need surgical procedure to remove them.  Smaller cysts and lesions can be managed with medications.
