No: Scar tissue appears on a microscopic level within days after surgery, and it usually subsides as much as it ever will after about two years. However, some people develop hypertrophic or keloid scars, and these require additional treatment to improve their appearance.

NO: Generally, no. The brain scars differently from other organs in the body. "scarring in the brain" generally means a loss of tissue in that area.

It will scar: A scar will form with any wound. Your surgeon will try and minimize the amount of tissue damage done during the procedure. After the procedure, you will want to care for your wound exactly as the surgeon recommends to prevent infection and disruption of the wound. Using sun protection for at least a year after the surgery will reduce redness.

Dont worry: We always heal with scar formation. Adhesions are sheet like scars that span across the abdomen.  In many cases you have them for yeas and never are bothered by them. The risk is one of these bands wrapping around your intestine and strangling it. In that case you will have intense abdominal pain an distention. It likely will never happen but check any abdominal pain greater than normal cramps

Already healed: 4-6 weeks is ample time for effective scar formation.

my daughter had. surgery yesterday to remove lesions and scar tissue .  she has pancreatitus and is on a pick line to eat.  how long to eat?

It can take a while: It often takes a while to get better after pancreatitis. It may take more than a week. TPN (nutrition through the PICC line) can provide all she needs in the meantime.

my ortho dr has advised me during arthrolysis surgery he had to move my mcl in order to reach scar tissue, thus it needs time to heal...is this common?

Confused: Need more information to give you a good answer, but that doesn't make sense. Sometimes the MCL can be stretched and injured during the arthroscopy but it always heals back by itself in that setting.

i had septoplasty surgery a week ago and the incision seems to be open. will the scar tissue fill it in or do i need to go back and stitch it back up. ?

Open incision: Go back to the surgeon and discuss this. he has to check if it is infected  or other issues, if it is indeed open.

i have a hard mass at midriff, i was told years ago that it was scar tissue built up from my gallbladder surgery, it is painful sometimes. is there anything to help this ?

i tore my acl and miniscis in july 2015. i had surgery at the end of july to repair them  then in august i had surgery to remove scar tissue   the scar tissue has come back forming a knot which is painful and limits my mobility what should i do?

Where is: the "scarring" you mention..in the joint??(Arthrofibrosis) or around the joint???? ( "keloid" )

In any case if there is a "knot" possibly a steroid injection will help...or surgical excision is needed!
