No beard to scalp : The beard and scalp have completely different types of hair, and beard hair is not suitable for the scalp. Also, scars are left in the hair donor site. Even if the beard was a suitable donor site, you would not want to have these scars on the face. Donor hair should be taken from the back of the head where the hair density is sufficient. I use the Neograft technique, which leaves no linear scars.

This is due to a decrease in testosterone levels, which is the hormone responsible for male hair growth. However, it is important to note that not all men experience chest hair loss at the same age or rate. Chest hair doesn't look so good and is not usually chosen.

i'm 25, have good hairline but my hair is thin since i stopped exercising and became weak. so, due to thin hair, the scalp is visible about 1inch from the start of my hairline only when i comb my hair upwards. do i need hair transplant to solve this?

: That will not likely solve it. I recommend doing a family tree (male and female) of hair growth issue.

Scalp numbness: The scalp is innervated by up to 10 nerves, but mainly by nerves which run from the forehead to the crown. Rarely during a transplant one of these nerves can be damaged by a punch or needle. Unlike the spinal cord these peripheral nerves usually regenerate, if damaged within 3-4 weeks but if severed then 4-6 mo. Fortunately they are sensory only and do not affect the motor function of any muscles.

Cut nerve: In harvesting a strip of skin (and slicing it up for transplant) the nerves that innervate the scalp can be cut.  They may re grow at a rate of 1mm per day, so it may take several months to know if you will regain full sensation in the area.

However, hereditary hair loss patients must demonstrate enough maturity to understand the need for ongoing medical therapy to prevent the further progression of the condition in the nontransplanted hair.
