A member asked:

A little more than 4 months after my fue hair transplantation, my scalp is still somewhat numb. is this a concern and can my results be affected?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Scalp numbness: The scalp is innervated by up to 10 nerves, but mainly by nerves which run from the forehead to the crown. Rarely during a transplant one of these nerves can be damaged by a punch or needle. Unlike the spinal cord these peripheral nerves usually regenerate, if damaged within 3-4 weeks but if severed then 4-6 mo. Fortunately they are sensory only and do not affect the motor function of any muscles.
