why do i have scabs on scalp that won't heal?

A part of healing: A scab is a collection of red blood cells, platelets and other things that your body produces to cover a break in the skin.  Our skin protects the delicate internal things from the harsh external environment outside our bodies.  As the injured tissues under the scab heal. It will eventually fall apart allowing new tissues to fill in the injury.  Do not pick/pull at it as this slows down healing.

See a Dermatologist: It's been chronic and we need to find the etiology. Guess work may not be helpful. Please see a dermatologist.

Leave scab alone: Scabs serve a purpose of covering and protecting damaged skin while the skin heals. Once the skin heals in and matures the scab will fall off. Leave it alone till then. It actually makes a good bandage.

how do i get rid of the scabs on my scalp i mean all over it is a lot. it can't heal because of the scabs, and im a male with long hair so it makes it even harder. all of what to do as of now my 2 options are get a buzzcut and clean it off painfully?

: Proper treatment would require an evaluation for the cause. This can be bacterial or fungal infection, skin conditions  or a rare form of skin cancer. After an exam and some tests a treatment plan could be made. This may or may not involve removal of existing hair.

i have pemphigus vulgaris and i am treating it with mycophenolate and prednisone. currently, i have scabs on my scalp that apears to not heal. what is causing this not to heal? the prednisone?

Pemphigus: One of the newest treatments for pemphigus is rituximab.  To date, application of Rituximab has been reported in 26 treatment-resistant patients with the vulgaris, foliaceus, and paraneoplastic variants of pemphigus as well as in bullous pemphigoid and epidermolysis bullosa acquisita. All but a single patient showed clinical improvement with reduction of lesion formation.

Scalp lump: Most skin conditions like this should be evaluated by a physician. In sun exposed areas, tissue damage results in changes in the nature and texture of the skin, including benign things like seborrheic keratosis, but also skin cancers like basal and squamous cell tumors. A biopsy always takes guesswork out of the equation.

i have 5-6 very small cuts on my forehead & scalp.they come w/out injury, itch, form a scab, then heal.  a few months later, they're back, always in the same places. any ideas?

See Dermatologist: It could just be dry skin or a contact dermatitist or eczema.However, when skin lesions  keep recurring the the same area or never seem to go away.Almost heal and then get worwe in a cycle you need to see  a Dermatologist.
