Pemphigus: One of the newest treatments for pemphigus is rituximab. To date, application of Rituximab has been reported in 26 treatment-resistant patients with the vulgaris, foliaceus, and paraneoplastic variants of pemphigus as well as in bullous pemphigoid and epidermolysis bullosa acquisita. All but a single patient showed clinical improvement with reduction of lesion formation.

Pemphigus: Your pemphigus condition could be causing sores/scabs in your scalp just as it could be causing other sores/scabs in other bodily areas. Follow-up with your dermatologist. Prednisone is anti-inflammatory and should generally help your pemphigus and not be causing spontaneous sores/scabs in your scalp.

See dermatologist: Check with your dermatologist since an nonhealing skin lesion may signal skin cancer.
