i pulled my sartorius a month ago and there is still no change. is there any possibility that it's torn? it happened right after i ran in a xc race.

Advise PT for rehab: See a pt for rehab.   If no better in 2 weeks see pcp or an ortho doc.

Depends: It would depend on the severity of the tear, your overall health, your prescribed therapy and your own inate ability to heal.  It could be anywhere from a couple of weeks to 6 weeks or more.  Get a good evaluation from an orthopedist or a sports medicine specialist and perhaps a physical therapist  dealing with sports injuries.

i have pain in my sartorius or gracilis muscle. i had an acl reconstruction a year ago and they used one of the above muscle.

Possibly: They could have used the gracilis as part of the graft. The sartorial is never used as a graft. However, the current pain is more likely from limping. Limping and favoring that knee comes from quad weakness and inhibitions. This in turn causes hamstring tendinitis.

Get it checked: You will know what it is by getting it checked by your doctor.You will go through detailed history and physical exam to make the correct deiagnosis

Sartorius: If that is a persistent issue and PT not belong I would discuss with a orthopedist

Get better: Heat, massage, streching  will relax it, it will come back to normal.

i have twitches for 2 days now, it went down in severity, it's isolated to a single location on my thigh (sartorius muscle if i am not mistaken), should i be worried ?

Not yet: Muscle twitching for two days in a middle age male is very likely related to isolated overuse of a local muscle group. Warm soaks, calcium supplements or foods, and rest will likely accompany resolution.  Continuance after a week or so, worsening, or occurrence of other symptoms might suggest a doctor visit.

Sudden muscul force: The mechanism of injury in apophyseal avulsions is sudden forceful concentric or eccentric muscle contraction during running, jumping or kicking a ball, which results in traction on the unfused apophysis. Extreme passive stretching and chronic repetitive microtrauma have also been implicated in the development of apophyseal avulsion.

i felt severe pain as if i was pulling a muscle at the gym 2 days ago while doing lunges. now the thigh is swollen, there is no discolouration. pain is along sartorius distribution. how lilely is a muscle tear? can i take anti inflammatories anf rest

Tear: It could be acute strain or a sprain. Rest and anti inflammatory medication would be effective. Also moist heat compresses may help. Good Luck
