Many choices: The healthiest foods are vegetables and good protein. Use organic whole grain bread (ideally with sprouted grains). Include avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions and maybe cucumber, pickles or sauerkraut on all for veggies. For protein you can choose hummus, organic cheese (preferably raw), a veggie burger, eggs, lox, sliced chicken or turkey (preferably organic). By mixing and matching many options!

Caregiver burnout: Make sure you are getting enough sleep, at least 7-8 hours a night. Make time for exercise such as walking most days. Please try and eat a healthy diet with fresh fruits and vegetables, complex carbohydrates like whole grain bread and oatmeal, and lean meats and fish and yoghurt. It would be a good idea to see your physician for an exam and screening labs and tests. A support group might help.

Describe sandwich!: Come on!  depends what is in the sandwich!  personally why not go for a salad with a balsamic dressing?  The real key is to eat enough to not be hungry.  Salads and fresh veg you can eat unlimited amounts.  Get full.  Soup is also a great choice.  I do not like the sandwich option because you should probably cut back on the bread!

If much salt and fat: Eating one ham sandwich every day is not a problem unless the sandwich has a huge number of calories (which can cause obesity), the sandwich has lots of fat from mayo or cheese (which can cause high cholesterol and obesity), the sandwich has lots of salt (which can raise blood pressure), or one is worried about the nitrite preservatives in ham. There are ways to make healthy ham sandwiches!
