Not necessarily: Costochronditis can occur intermittently. It is the inflammation of the joints where your ribs meet your breast bone. There are many causes. It is usually self limiting, but can recur. You can take OTC medications like Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Advil to relieve the pain if you need to.

Possibly: Viral infections can make pretty much everything hurt.  If the pain is related to the costochondritis then I would expect it to subside as the cold symptoms subside.  Evening primrose oil is an herbal supplement that can help with breast tenderness.

i have a vein slightly sticking out my upper right side flank/breast for 4 months. it occurred at the same time as my costochondritis. it causes mild pain/discomfort. chest ct scan & ultrasound of vein normal. any ideas why my vein is poking out?

: If you have any respiratory symptoms,such as shortness of breath or decreased exercise tolerance, please see a Cardiologist. Malformation of the vessels may also be evaluated by MRI. Watch for signs of chest pain around the vein, syncope and dizziness.

No.: No, there is no evidence that any type of bra causes “sagging”. On the contrary, it makes sense that the use of a supportive bras may help prevent the effects of time and gravity.  Of course, significant weight fluctuation and/or pregnancies may also cause breast ptosis (sagging). Genetics may play a role as well.  Hope this helps.

Size and Gravity: The best thing you can do is wear a bra, exercise and enjoy your life.  Gravity controls all of us here in earth, as well as our bodies.  Unless you are interested in breast augmentation, your breasts will "sag" over time, lesser degrees for some, greater degrees for others.  It will take some time though, years not months.

my dr said i have costochondritis. the pain is in my ribs both sides under breasts toward sides pain when pushed on. had pneumonia. how long lasting?

Highly annoying...: For its discomfort, how it jabs you worse when "need to breathe, " and (unfortunately) how it can last anywhere 2-6 weeks...Very hard to predict. Hopefully the NSAID they provided for you is working--ibuprofen or naprosyn (naproxen) often helps make it manageable.

3 days ago i was at hospital with severe chest pain. the dr said its costochondritis. i still have pain and it feels like a blockage thats moving under my left breast. what can this be?

It may take: a few weeks for costochondritis to improve. IF your symptoms are changing, another exam is needed.

NSAIDS: the best treatment for CostoChondtritis provided it really is costocondritis is an anti inflammatory like Aleve (naproxen) or Advil in the OTC recommended dose

No: I would be looking for other explanations.  Perhaps even post herpetic  zoster (shingles)?   Sometimes there is no rash.   I'd also look for problems along the upper spine.    Besides your regular doctor you might also see what acupuncture or manipulation would do but  I think you are right to ask for another explanation.   Costo-chondritis I would expect to get better with care and time.

Unlikely: The duration of your symptoms for years makes costochondritis less likely, but may still be contributing if waxing and waning symptoms.

Trial of steroid burst/rapid taper may be adequate to assess if inflammatory component is contributing.

If no response, consider alternative etiologies and work up: GI, pain medicine, etc.
